Almut Möller has been the head of program at the Alfred von Oppenheim Center for European Policy Studies at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) since 2010.

From 2008 to 2010 she lived and worked as a freelance analyst, author and trainer in London. Between 2002 and 2008 she was a researcher at the Center for Applied Policy Research (CAP) at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, where she initially worked in the European Union Reform and Enlargement Programme. Since 2007 she was the Head of the Center’s Euro-Mediterranean Programme.

Since 2003, Almut Möller has been a trainer and moderator in political education on the European Union. In 2006 she also taught at the Geschwister-Scholl-Institut für politische Wissenschaft at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich and in 2003 and 2004 at Munich University for Applied Sciences.

Almut Möller was a guest researcher at Renmin University of China in Beijing (2006), Al Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies in Cairo (2007) and at the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS) at Johns Hopkins University in Washington D.C. (2008). She is an Associate Fellow at the Austria Institute for European and Security Policy (AIES) in Maria Enzersdorf near Vienna and the editor of the berlinbrief, a briefing on German foreign policy for an English speaking readership.

Almut Möller holds an M.A. in Political Science of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich (2002). She also studied at Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster and at the Institut d’Études Politiques (Sciences-Po) in Aix-en-Provence.
