Dr. Claudia Schmucker specializes on international economic relations. Before joining the Institute in 2002, she was a project manager at the Center for International Cooperation (CIC) in Bonn. She attended the Yale Center for International and Area Studies (YCIAS) of the Yale University, conducting research on transatlantic trade relations between the EU and the U.S. and the WTO. She published Handelskonflikte der USA mit der EU seit 1985: Eine Studie des Reziprozitätsprinzips in der U.S.-Außenhandelspolitik, 2002, and various articles on trade relations and the WTO. She started her studies in Bonn and Elmira, NY and holds a Master (M.A.) in North American Studies and a doctor of economics from the Free University of Berlin.
