Transatlantic Relations

The United States is a vital partner and most important global actor. Political decisions in Washington have frequently and directly affected Germany. For this reason, we deal with US foreign policy and transatlantic relations.

Our goal is to foster a strategically important dialogue between Berlin and Washington. The central focus lies on building transatlantic networks between political elites on both sides of the Atlantic to establish transatlantic cooperation as a partnership of choice and to establish a sustainable transatlantic consensus. This includes the critical analysis and evaluation of the domestic dimensions which influence US foreign policy. Our events such as panel discussions, expert roundtables or lectures seek to educate German policymakers, the business community, academia and the media about major foreign policy discussions in the United States. With formats such as the Transatlantic Discussion Group for experts under the age of 35 we increasingly reach out to the next generation of transatlantic leaders. In addition to building transatlantic networks our experts publish analyses and opinion editorials on current political events and backgrounds in order to co-shape the opinions of policymakers, the media and the public.
