Spring workshop of the Doctoral Programme of the Robert Bosch Stiftung

Tuesday 22. April 12:00 - Thursday 24. 18:00
Location: DGAP, Berlin

How are anti-corruption strategies of international organizations creatively re-interpreted by national actors in Georgia? How is the ‘Memelgebiet’ constituted visually? What is the nature of interregional relations in Russia and may they constitute a sustainable completion to the focus on the new vertical power concentration in favor of the Kremlin? These and other questions are tackled by six participants of the interdisciplinary Doctoral Programme at the German Council of Foreign Relations (DGAP).

The candidates receive a Ph.D. at a German university, but stay for field studies and teachings in Central respectively Eastern Europe. Three times a year they come together for workshops and trainings. During this three-day spring workshop six doctoral candidates presented the recent status of their research projects in Central and Eastern Europe.

Within the Doctoral Programme recently altogether twelve candidates work on the broader topic of “Central and Eastern Europe in the 21st century: conditions, perspectives and strategies”. The topic is multi-dimensional and can be interpreted by different scientific disciplines in several ways, but allows sufficient links to a multidisciplinary discussion.
